There is no worse feeling than that dreaded first sign of a UTI.
You feel a slight discomfort when you go to the bathroom, and your mind spirals into a million ways this up and coming urinary tract infection can and will make your life a living hell. UTI’s will quickly ruin your day, and if you’re here, you’re probably looking into finding a urinary tract infection treatment. Having experienced some chronic UTI’s, I 100% feel your pain ladies.
Isn’t it funny how UTIs pop up at the worst time too? How effing convenient.
Got a wedding coming up? What about a 10-hour plane ride? BOOM. UTI.
AND (Like our lives aren’t difficult enough), women are more prone to them than men…
Men- 20932384923 Women- 0.
A woman’s urethra is much shorter than a man’s, so when bacteria enters and multiplies, you’re pretty much screwed. If you haven’t had one, consider yourself lucky af. For those who have had one, you know the symptoms all too well. UTI symptoms include having the terrible urge to pee ALL THE TIME, painful urination, cloudy or red tinted urine (aka blood), and stomach pain.
I swear I have PTSD just thinking about it. As soon as I get symptoms I immediately find myself googling ‘urinary tract infection treatment’…until I found this amazing solution.
Let’s start at the beginning…why do you have one, and whats this urinary tract infection treatment you speak of?
You could have just had sex. Men and women have a lot of bacteria down there, so when you do the dirty, all that bacteria is being pushed inside your urethra. When you add A + B together, you understand why your U is hurting so damn bad.
You’re wiping the wrong way. Fun fact, your sh*t also has a lot of bacteria. Call me captain obvious, but when you wipe the wrong way, bacteria from your anus can enter your urethra and cause a whole mess of problems.
Sometimes medicines and other birth control methods can make you more susceptible to UTIs. This usually includes spermicides and diaphragms.
and of course
You could have held your pee in for too long.
Moral of the story, and probably the reason why you’re here in the first place is that you’re looking for a urinary tract infection treatment.
You’re not even being dramatic if you admit to feeling like this woman in the picture when you have a UTI.
Fear not friends…there is hope.
I’m here to tell you about a treatment that I’ve personally tried, and can say has worked! There is a urinary tract infection treatment and preventative measure you can take to keep them from happening in the first place. The best part? It’s not an antibiotic.
A Natural Urinary Tract Infection Treatment:
It’s a supplement called D-Mannose. D-Mannose is a form of sugar (that won’t raise your blood sugar levels) and will change yo lives. Although no significant studies have yet to be published, early trials suggest evidence that bacteria in the urethra sticks to the sugar while being flushed out of the body.
*Note: I took this at the first sign of a urinary tract infection. Use this at your own discretion. If your UTI does not improve, see a doctor ASAP ladies*
To use D-Mannose as a UTI cure, use at the first sign of infection. First, mix half a teaspoon (so half a spoonful) of powder in half a glass of water. Then, wait an hour or so (try your best) before using the restroom and drinking more water, to reassure that the sugar concentration remains in your system. After ya finally pee, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and flushing out your system often. Continue by drinking a half teaspoon of D-Mannose powder in a full glass of water every three or so hours. Continue this for two to three days, even after symptoms have disappeared.
To use D-Mannose as a preventative, drink half a teaspoon of powder with a full glass of water daily.
By the way, it doesn’t taste bad…for some reason I thought it would??? #tasteless
I and several people I know have tried using D-mannose and have seen successful results. If you’re looking for a natural substitute for an antibiotic, 12/10 would recommend it. However, please use it at your own discretion, and if symptoms don’t improve, make sure to see your doctor ASAP!
- Drink a half teaspoon of powder in half a glass of water at the first sign of infection.
- Wait an hour or so before peeing.
- Drink a half teaspoon of powder in a full glass of water every two to three hours.
- Continue for 2 to 3 days, even after symptoms are completely resolved.
To use as a preventative drink a half a teaspoon every day or whenever you feel is necessary.
Here’s to staying UTI free!
