It’s almost the halfway point of summer!

So naturally, I’ve already begun dreaming of autumn. Fall is definitely my favorite season because it brings cooler weather, college football, and more crochet projects! Last night, I came up with this super easy, crochet braided scarf pattern. It’s perfect to keep your warm, and its super cute accessory to add to any of your fall outfits.

I love this braided scarf pattern for several reasons. It’s super easy to create and perfect for even beginner crocheters. Second, it whips up fast so you can finish this bad boy in as little as an hour…probably even faster if you are a pro crochet superstar. Last, it makes such a cute fall accessory and is perfect to stay warm, but bonus points because it helps you stay cute while doing it. 😉

Let’s get to it! Learn how to make this fall scarf using my crochet braided scarf pattern below!

Crochet Braided Scarf Pattern:

What You’ll Need:

  • Crochet Hook, Size Q/15mm
  • Loops & Threads “Phat” Yarn in White *This yarn has been discontinued 🙁 However, any super bulky (size 6) yarn will work!* The yarn is a blend of polyester and nylon.
  • Scissors

I’ve linked Michael’s website, where they have lots of options for Super Bulky Yarns

Stitches:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip Stitch (ss)
  • Single Crochet (sc)

Pattern:

  1. Chain 35+1 (+1 is for the first single crochet!)
  2. Single crochet in the second chain from the hook (the ch. 35 space)
  3. Single crochet down the rest of the row.
  4. When you finish the row, chain 1 and turn your work.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times. You should have three rows of single crochet.
  6. Fasten off.
  7. Repeat steps 1-6 two more times so you have a total of three long strands *NOTE, you do not need to fasten off for the last piece!*
  8. To connect all three strands, chain one and single crochet the three pieces together. You should have a total of 9 single crochets, with three in each strand. Fasten off.
  9. Braid the three pieces together.
  10. Make sure the braids are correctly done and have no twists or any wacko tangles. To connect the braids, single crochet each strand together. Again you should have 9 sc. Do NOT fasten off!
  11. Fold your project in half, again making sure there are no unwanted twists or tangles.
  12. Slip stitch through both ends of the project (should be 9 times) to join the pieces together.
  13. Fasten off, and weave in any loose ends.
