It’s Friday AND NATIONAL COFFEE DAY!

The weekend is upon us, my friends. We made it! As a new 9 to 5er, I decided to write a little something on cubicle accessories! Having just transitioned from graduate school to college, the idea of working in a cubicle every weekday is still a foreign concept.

College students are accustomed to having everything we need in an easy to reach location– after all, we often complete our coursework in our apartments/on campus.  All the misc. items we need are an arm’s length away.

As new corporate employees, it’s crucial to have everything you need right at your desk and in your cubicle. Below I’ve compiled some cubicle accessories to liven up your work cube and make your workspace much more pleasant. By having these items on hand, you’ll be more productive and ready to kick some serious ass in the workforce!

11 Cubicle Accessories and Decorations to Slay Your Corporate Career

Cubicle Accessories for the New Corporate Employee:

Office Supplies

The OG cubicle accessories. Office supplies are totally a standard at a corporate job and are usually given to you by your department. This can include:

  • Notebooks/Paper
  • Pencils/Pens
  • Post-it Notes
  • Paperclips/Staples
  • Locking storage/filing cabinet.
  • Thumbtacks and Paperclips

You get the picture. If you need something office supply related I would ask someone in your department prior to going out and buying something on your own. On the first day, I would recommend bringing your own notepad and pen to take any notes…it’ll look like you’re well prepared and ready to go.

If you want to have your own cute accessories, there are many cubicle accessories sets you can purchase at Target or Amazon. I mean I’m kind of obsessed with the cute matching paper clips and binder holders….especially in rose gold *heart eye emoji*.

Coffee Mug

“America runs on Dunkin.” “First I drink the coffee. Then I do the things.”

I and plenty of my peers RUN ON COFFEE. Adulting is hard and we need a kickstart to really get going. Often, you’ll see corporate offices providing their workers with some source of coffee, whether it be a Starbucks in the lobby, a Keurig in the kitchen etc. It’s always helpful to have a coffee mug that stays at the office, and/or anything you need to make your coffee the way you like it.

Water Tumbler

Gotta stay hydrated to kick some serious corporate butt ladies!

I’ve really been trying to step up my water intake lately (mainly because I’ve started hot yoga). My entire life I’ve always struggled to drink enough water. To improve my health, immune system and skin (acne pls), hydration is a major key. When you’ve got a water tumbler at your desk, you can quickly refill and stay on top of your water game.

If you’re going to sit at a desk all day, you might as well keep your hydration levels up!

Pictures and College Memorabilia

Nothing feels homier than putting up pictures of your loved ones and/or your pets.

I have a picture of my cutie pie Duds, my college BFFs and my lovely fam in the works. I’m actually going to put them in dollar store frames so they look more presentable and professional.

Likewise, I hung up my Florida State flag to represent the ‘Noles out in California!

Plant/Succulent!

Adding a plant or succulent to your cube makes it feel so much warmer and inviting. Succulents are super easy to take care of and all the rage right now. You can find so many cute things to do with them and they don’t require much water at all.

Here are some great types you can get:

  • English Ivy
  • Ferns
  • Echeveria
  • Aloe

Jacket or Sweater

I’d be lost without my main cubicle essential sweather…because space heaters are frowned upon. Seriously, someone please tell me why offices are always either too hot/cold (definitely always too cold). It’s actually miserable, and if you forget to bring a sweater or jacket to work one day you’ll screw yourself over. Have one always there just in case. It’ll save your life.

I’m in the process of crocheting one up now to leave at my desk.  Lucky for your readers I’ll for sure be posting about a free pattern in the future ?.

Tissues

Hey, we all get a runny nose and gross from time to time. Having tissues nearby is always a good move.

Hand Sanitizer

Maybe if you have hand sanitizer, the tissue use will be less likely!

Seriously though, It’s a corporate office. You’re gonna be networking hard af (cause you’re a boss lady and you kill the employment game) and going to be shaking hands on the regular. It’s always a good move to sanitize after shaking people’s hands. Getting sick is the absolute woooorsssstttt.

Coat/Purse Hanger

When you get to work, it’s nice to have somewhere to hang your purse so you’re not just throwing it on the floor.

Tide To Go

Tide To Go is one of the greatest innovations of our time. Seriously, I can count a number of times I’ve spilled yogurt or sauce all over myself at work. It happens way more often than it should and Tide To Go gets the stain out easy. I’m telling you it saves lives and keeps you looking clean, professional and always ready to leave a good impression.

Tampons/Pads

A classic scenario, but we’ve all had that moment where we thought our period was gone but SURPRISE, she comes back with a vengeance. If you don’t keep any in your purse you should always have some spare items at the office.

Cubicle Accessories and Decorations

Starting a new job is always super nerve-wracking. Especially in a corporate office setting. You’ll be totally ready to make your office space feel like your second home with all the cubicle accessories and decorations you can get your hands on.

Good luck to all my #bossbabes out there, and you’re going to absolutely SLAY the workforce.
